Update
The deal to bring Nathan Ake to West Ham has reportedly broken down. The Manchester City defender had featured prominently in the club's plans, but sources are now speculating that no agreement was reached and both sides are expected to move on quickly to new targets. Whether talks will resume further down the line remains to be seen. The transfer has collapsed, but Nathan Ake could still emerge as a target for other linked sides such as Barcelona, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. This season (25/26) West Ham have shipped 36 goals in 18 matches - 2.0 a game, which is well above the Premier League average. Nathan Ake would be expected to come in and help tighten things up at the back. Alongside this, Manchester City are said to be exploring Harry Gray, Jeremy Monga and Antoine Semenyo with West Ham likewise connected to Moussa Kounfolo Yeo, Charles Crewe and Ellis Reco Simms.
