After being on the brink of joining Manchester City, Cody Gakpo will remain at Liverpool - at least for now. According to sources close to the deal, talks over a potential transfer have collapsed, with negotiations hitting a wall late in the process. The forward had been seen as a priority signing for the interested team but it looks like they will have to look elsewhere or return with an improved offer. With negotiations ending unsuccessfully, Cody Gakpo will not join Manchester City - but interest from Tottenham, Leipzig and Atletico could yet reignite. At 3.0 goals scored per game this season, Manchester City already pose a big threat. Cody Gakpo would be expected to maintain that level and give them another reliable option in attack. Liverpool continue to be linked with Anton Kade, Ismaila Sarr and Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa while Manchester City are also rumoured to be tracking Julian Alvarez, Allan Andrade Elias and Alexis MacAllister.
