Chelsea have wrapped up the signing of Emilano Martinez, who joins from Aston Villa. The goalkeeper's move has been made official after successful negotiations, a passed medical, and contract signing. The confirmation has been welcomed by fans, who've waited eagerly for this long-anticipated deal to go through. It's the end of the road for a transfer story that featured a number of different potential suitors along the way, including Tottenham, Juventus and Liverpool. Emilano Martinez is now confirmed as a Chelsea player, with everything from contract approval to medicals now done. So far in this season, Chelsea are conceding 2.0 goals a game (2 in 1), more than they'd like compared to the Premier League standard. The hope is Emilano Martinez adds a bit of steel and helps make them tougher to break down. Aston Villa continue to be linked with Jean-Clair Todibo, Christian Michel Kofane and Rafael Leao while Chelsea are also rumoured to be tracking Francisco Fernandes Conceicao, Iliman Ndiaye and Honest Ahanor.
