Update
Watford have finally got their man, after they confirmed the arrival of Formose Mendy from Lorient. The defender becomes the club's latest signing of the window, with all formalities now completed. The transfer ends speculation surrounding his future and marks a significant step in the club's push to strengthen key areas of the squad. The move attracted little outside interest, which meant Watford could complete the transfer without any real contest. Across the season 25/26, Watford have let in 10 goals in 8 (1.25 per game), about average in the Championship. Formose Mendy would be expected to give them some extra stability and depth for the tougher stretches of the season. Lorient have also been linked with Trevan Sanusi, Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal and Bamo Meite while Watford are reportedly monitoring Jeremy Petris and Max Johnston.
