Update
Multiple reliable news outlets have reported that the race to sign Kalvin Phillips is heating up, as reports indicate that Leeds have now officially submitted a bid for the player as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the run-in. Talks are expected to continue over the coming days - with Manchester City said to be reluctant to let him go for a penny less than their valuation. Until a fee and conditions are finalised, the deal remains vulnerable to disruption - especially if Lyon decide to make a formal offer of their own in the coming days. In season 25/26, Leeds are conceding 1.76 goals per game (37 in 21 games), which points to a lack of control in midfield. Kalvin Phillips would be expected to calm things down and protect the back line better. Manchester City continue to be linked with Michael Olabode Kayode, Max Alleyne and Adam Wharton while Leeds are also rumoured to be tracking Raykkonen Pereira Soares, Joseph Willock and Ruben Neves.
