Update
After being on the brink of joining West Ham, Marc-Andre ter Stegen will remain at Barcelona - at least for now. Talks over a potential transfer have reportedly collapsed, with negotiations hitting a wall late in the process. The goalkeeper had been seen as a priority signing for the interested team but it looks like they will have to look elsewhere or return with an improved offer. With negotiations ending unsuccessfully, Marc-Andre ter Stegen will not join West Ham - but interest from Girona, Aston Villa and Chelsea could yet reignite. This season (25/26) West Ham have shipped 44 goals in 22 matches - 2.0 a game, which is well above the Premier League average. Marc-Andre ter Stegen would be expected to come in and help tighten things up at the back. Barcelona continue to be linked with Mickey van de Ven, Alan Godoy and Joao Cancelo while West Ham are also rumoured to be tracking Mateo Kovacic, Kaelan Casey and Dan Neill.
