Nicolas Gonzalez is officially a Newcastle player following confirmation of his transfer from Manchester City. The midfielder joins after both clubs confirmed the deal after personal terms were agreed and the player passed his medical. Now focus turns to how he will fit into his new team. Newcastle faced no rival bids for the player, enabling them to negotiate directly and wrap up the deal efficiently. Newcastle's 26/27 record of 2.0 goals conceded per game shows they're missing balance in midfield. Someone like Nicolas Gonzalez could give them more structure and help them manage games. Manchester City continue to be linked with Cody Gakpo, Allan Andrade Elias and Pedro Neto while Newcastle are also rumoured to be tracking Alexander Isak, Christian Michel Kofane and Carlos Baleba.
