Update
According to sources close to the deal, Nottingham Forest will not be signing Soungoutou Magassa from Monaco after all. The defender had been heavily linked throughout the window, but the deal is now dead in the water. Reasons for the collapse remain unclear, though it marks a blow to Nottingham Forest's plans to bolster their squad. This move is off for now, though speculation continues around Soungoutou Magassa, who has also been linked with West Ham and Roma. This season (25/26) Nottingham Forest have shipped 10 goals in 6 matches - 1.67 a game, which is well above the Premier League average. Soungoutou Magassa would be expected to come in and help tighten things up at the back. Alongside this, Monaco are said to be exploring Kieran Trippier with Nottingham Forest likewise connected to Matty Cash, Rico Lewis and Yunus Musah. Stay tuned for more details as the story develops.
