The transfer of Ben Godfrey to Broendby has reportedly reached a breakthrough stage after Atalanta gave the green light to the move and accepted a formal offer. While personal terms and contract length are yet to be agreed - it is looking increasingly likely that the interested team is about to get one of their top transfer targets signed and sealed. While Broendby and Atalanta continue talks, no breakthrough has been reported. Sheff Utd reportedly may still have an interest, but currently the focus is on getting this deal across the line. Broendby's back line has been a real strength this season, conceding just 1.17 goals per game (21 in 18). Ben Godfrey would be expected to slot into that unit and hold his own in an already solid setup.
