Girona have made a major breakthrough in their pursuit of Javier Bonar Franco, with multiple reports confirming that Atletico have accepted their latest bid for the player. The defender is now locked in personal discussions with the buying side as they look to get a deal done as quickly as they can. While key details still need resolving, the player's move now appears to be a matter of “when”, not “if”. Negotiations are still active, and with no other teams linked, Girona appear to have a clear path to completing the deal. By bringing in Javier Bonar Franco, Girona would add another option to balance the squad and support throughout the season. Atletico have recently been linked with Jorge Salinas, Nicolas Jackson and Marc Domenec while Girona have had no rumoured targets. Want more transfer rumours like this?
