Update
Reliable sources are reporting that discussions have begun between Bremen and Burnley over the transfer of Hjalmar Ekdal. The defender has emerged as a top target for the interested team, and talks are reportedly progressing as the two clubs explore whether there is a deal to be done for the player. The transfer remains in progress, and with no other clubs involved, Bremen look to be negotiating from a comfortable position. This season (25/26) Bremen have shipped 37 goals in 19 matches - 1.95 a game, which is well above the Bundesliga average. Hjalmar Ekdal would be expected to come in and help tighten things up at the back. Alongside this, Burnley are said to be exploring James Ward-Prowse with Bremen likewise connected to Adriano Jagusic.
