After an agreement was reached and all documents signed, James Ward-Prowse has been announced as the latest recruit at Southampton. The midfielder leaves West Ham after completing all formalities. With the deal now official, attention turns to when the new signing will debut for his new club. Southampton have won the race for James Ward-Prowse, who had been tracked by Burnley and Everton earlier this month. Now that every aspect of the deal has been confirmed, the focus turns to preparing him for debut. The move is a clear signal of the club's ambition this season. So far this season, Southampton are steady at both ends (2.0 goals scored per game, 1.5 goals conceded per game). The role for James Ward-Prowse would be to keep that balance while lifting performances across the pitch. West Ham continue to be linked with Joel Piroe, Arne Engels and Troy Parrott while Southampton are also rumoured to be tracking Aster Vranckx, Keven Schlotterbeck and Anel Ahmedhodzic.
