Update
It looks like Liverpool will not be signing Joel Ordonez from Club Brugge after all. The defender had been heavily linked throughout the window, but the deal is now dead in the water. Reasons for the collapse remain unclear, though it marks a blow to Liverpool's plans to bolster their squad. The deal has fallen through, and while Liverpool are moving on, clubs such as Aston Villa, Chelsea and Inter remain in the frame. Across the season 25/26, Liverpool have let in 28 goals in 20 (1.4 per game), roughly in line with the Premier League average. Joel Ordonez would be expected to give them some extra stability and depth for the tougher stretches of the season. Liverpool have recently been linked with Yisa Alao, Othmane Maamma and Ivan Toney while Club Brugge have had no rumoured targets.
