According to a number of reliable sources, the deal to sign Kento Shiogai has taken a major step forward. After NEC Nijmegen agreed to Wolfsburg's latest bid for the player, the focus has now shifted to personal terms as they look to get a deal done. The forward is said to be receptive to the move, which would see him join an already talented squad ahead of the run-in. Negotiations are still active, and with no other teams linked, Wolfsburg appear to have a clear path to completing the deal. So far this season, Wolfsburg are averaging 1.53 goals scored per game (26 goals /17 games), close to the Bundesliga average. Kento Shiogai would be expected to help them push higher and add more variety in attack.
