After being on the brink of joining Al-Ittihad, Ritsu Doan will remain at Frankfurt - at least for now. According to sources close to the deal, talks over a potential transfer have collapsed, with negotiations hitting a wall late in the process. The midfielder had been seen as a priority signing for the interested team but it looks like they will have to look elsewhere or return with an improved offer. Negotiations failed to produce a deal, and with no other reported suitors, the situation is set to remain unchanged for Ritsu Doan. Al-Ittihad are only scoring 1.25 goals per game (5 in 4) this season, which suggests they need more creativity in the middle. Ritsu Doan would be seen as the link to raise the tempo and feed the attack. Frankfurt continue to be linked with Lilian Brassier and Noah Atubolu while Al-Ittihad are also rumoured to be tracking Hicham Boudaoui, Edon Zhegrova and Ismaila Sarr.
