According to sources close to the deal, Celtic will not be signing Gvidas Gineitis from Torino after all. The midfielder had been heavily linked throughout the window, but the deal is now dead in the water. Reasons for the collapse remain unclear, though it marks a blow to Celtic's plans to bolster their squad. The proposed transfer is no longer on the table, and with no competing interest, the player is expected to stay where he is. So far this season, Celtic are steady at both ends (2.67 goals scored per game, 0.67 goals conceded per game). The role for Gvidas Gineitis would be to keep that balance while lifting performances across the pitch. Torino continue to be linked with Daniel Braganca, Nathan Patterson and Rafik Belghali while Celtic are also rumoured to be tracking Jordan Lotomba, Oliver Sorensen and Justin Devenny.
