Update
Girona have made a major breakthrough in their pursuit of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, with multiple reports confirming that Barcelona have accepted their latest bid for the player. The goalkeeper is now locked in personal discussions with the buying side as they look to get a deal done as quickly as they can. While key details still need resolving, the player's move now appears to be a matter of “when”, not “if”. Girona have laid out their intentions, but valuation and timing remain under debate. Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham are keeping tabs in case talks collapse or progress slows further. This season (25/26) Girona have shipped 34 goals in 18 matches - 1.89 a game, which is well above the LaLiga average. Marc-Andre ter Stegen would be expected to come in and help tighten things up at the back. Reports suggest Barcelona are monitoring Alan Godoy, Igor Vinicius and Bernardo Silva whereas Girona have not been associated with other players at this stage.
