Multiple reports have confirmed that Liverpool have made their first official bid for Adam Wharton by submitting a formal offer. The Crystal Palace midfielder has long been admired by the interested team, who see him as the perfect addition to their squad ahead of the run-in. Whether the current offer will be enough to tempt Crystal Palace to part with a prized asset remains to be seen. While Liverpool and Crystal Palace continue talks, no breakthrough has been reported. Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle reportedly may still have an interest, but currently the focus is on getting this deal across the line. So far this season, Liverpool are steady at both ends (2.0 goals scored per game, 1.33 goals conceded per game). The role for Adam Wharton would be to keep that balance while lifting performances across the pitch. Crystal Palace have also been linked with Dario Osorio, Benjamin Chilwell and Malick Fofana while Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Lucca Kiaba Brughmans, Tom Atcheson and Malo Gusto.
