Update
Following lengthy negotiations and final medical checks, Breel Embolo has completed a transfer to Rennes from Monaco. The forward is now fully registered and eligible for selection for his new team. It's a statement signing for Rennes, who have moved quickly to finalise the deal ahead of the close of the window, with fans salivating at the thought of seeing their new signing in a Rennes shirt. With the registration processed and contract signed, the club have moved quickly to integrate him into their plans for the remainder of the season. Napoli had previously shown interest for the player. In season 25/26, Rennes are only scoring 1.17 goals per game (7 in 6), below the Ligue 1 average. Breel Embolo would be brought in to give them more bite in the final third. Monaco have also been linked with Louis Leroux, Stanis Idumbo-Muzambo and Kieran Trippier while Rennes are reportedly monitoring Esteban Lepaul, Conrad Harder and Brian Brobbey.
