Update
Unconfirmed reports suggest that negotiations over the transfer of Ko Itakura are ongoing, with Wolfsburg pushing to land the defender from Ajax to strengthen their squad. Discussions are said to be constructive, with the structure of the deal - including add-ons and bonuses - now under consideration, although there is currently no confirmation of an agreed fee for the player. The player is aware of the interest and would reportedly be open to the move, should personal terms be agreed. Negotiations are still active, and with no other teams linked, Wolfsburg appear to have a clear path to completing the deal. So far in this season, Wolfsburg are conceding 2.16 goals a game (41 in 19), more than they'd like compared to the Bundesliga standard. The hope is Ko Itakura adds a bit of steel and helps make them tougher to break down. Ajax have also been linked with Carlos Vicente, Christian Norgaard and Yaser Asprilla while Wolfsburg are reportedly monitoring Troy Parrott, Charlie Cresswell and Kento Shiogai.
