Unconfirmed reports suggest that discussions have begun between Newell´s and Inter Miami CF over the transfer of Lionel Messi. The forward has emerged as a top target for the squad and talks are reportedly progressing as the two clubs explore whether there is a deal to be done for the player. While Newell´s and Inter Miami CF continue talks, no breakthrough has been reported. Barcelona and Galatasaray reportedly may still have an interest, but currently the focus is on getting this deal across the line. In season 2025, Newell´s are only scoring 0.81 goals per game (13 in 16), below the Superliga average. Lionel Messi would be brought in to give them more bite in the final third.
