Sam Johnstone is reportedly the subject of advanced talks between Celtic and Wolverhampton, who are negotiating terms ahead of a possible transfer. The goalkeeper has long been on the radar of Celtic, who see him as the perfect addition to their squad as they look to strengthen a key area of the pitch. Progress on talks has been made, though a final agreement is not yet in place and other clubs are said to be weighing-up whether to join the race for his signature. Manchester United and Tottenham remain in the background, but for now, Celtic are leading the way in ongoing talks. Celtic's back line has been a real strength this season, conceding just 0.67 goals per game (2 in 3). Sam Johnstone would be expected to slot into that unit and hold his own in an already solid setup. Wolverhampton continue to be linked with Joao Virginia while Celtic are also rumoured to be tracking Oliver Sorensen, Justin Devenny and Joel Van Den Berg.
