Transfer interest is building around Vangelis Pavlidis, with Aston Villa understood to be weighing-up a move for the SL Benfica forward. While there has been no official bid as yet, the club may act swiftly if they decide to pursue the deal before the transfer window slams shut. Aston Villa have laid out their intentions, but valuation and timing remain under debate. Barcelona, Tottenham and Al Hilal are keeping tabs in case talks collapse or progress slows further. Aston Villa's 26/27 output of 0.8 goals per game is behind league levels. The addition of Vangelis Pavlidis would give them the sharper edge they're missing in front of goal. Reports suggest Aston Villa are monitoring Gonzalo García Torres, Pavel Sulc and Min-jae Kim whereas SL Benfica have not been associated with other players at this stage.
