After being on the brink of joining Manchester United, Frenkie De Jong will remain at Barcelona - at least for now. Talks over a potential transfer have reportedly collapsed, with negotiations hitting a wall late in the process. The midfielder had been seen as a priority signing for the interested team but it looks like they will have to look elsewhere or return with an improved offer. This move is off for now, though speculation continues around Frenkie De Jong, who has also been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. So far this season, Manchester United are steady at both ends (1.5 goals scored per game, 1.5 goals conceded per game). The role for Frenkie De Jong would be to keep that balance while lifting performances across the pitch. Barcelona continue to be linked with Luka Vuskovic, Joao Felix and Joshua King while Manchester United are also rumoured to be tracking Dion Drena Beljo, Giuliano Simeone and Joshua King.
