Talks are underway between Igor Paixao and Sunderland after an agreement was reached with Sunderland. The forward is seen as a priority signing for the buying side, who are now focused on finalising personal terms as they look to strengthen their squad and kick-on. The player has not yet agreed a contract, but the move is progressing rapidly behind the scenes and is expected to be completed in the coming days. While Sunderland and Marseille continue talks, no breakthrough has been reported. Leeds United and Liverpool reportedly may still have an interest, but currently the focus is on getting this deal across the line. In season 26/27, Sunderland are only scoring 1.0 goals per game (1 in 1), below the Premier League average. Igor Paixao would be brought in to give them more bite in the final third. Marseille continue to be linked with Noah Atubolu, Tosin Adarabioyo and Lucas Perri while Sunderland are also rumoured to be tracking Marc Casado Torras, Geny Catamo and Dayann Methalie.
