Update
It's back to square one for Chelsea after multiple reports outlining their failure to land Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes. The defender had been in their sights for weeks, but despite talks taking place over a potential transfer, the move never materialised and it looks like they will need to move onto fresh targets. He'll remain with his current club for the time being - unless an improved bid is made. With negotiations ending unsuccessfully, Jeremy Jacquet will not join Chelsea - but interest from Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Man Utd could yet reignite. Chelsea's back line has been a real strength this season, conceding just 1.12 goals per game (27 in 24). Jeremy Jacquet would be expected to slot into that unit and hold his own in an already solid setup. Rennes continue to be linked with Prosper Peter, Yassir Zabiri and Nampalys Mendy while Chelsea are also rumoured to be tracking Ferran Torres, Jamal Musiala and Mamadou Sarr.
