Media reports claim that Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Gavi, who currently plays as a midfielder for Barcelona. The move is still in the early stages, but interest appears to be growing. Aston Villa remain optimistic, but the deal is not without hurdles. Napoli, Liverpool and Manchester United continue to monitor developments and could yet re-enter the race if negotiations stall or valuation gaps remain unresolved. With 1.11 goals scored per game this season, Aston Villa could use more imagination between the lines. Gavi would be expected to connect play and boost chance creation in advanced areas. Barcelona continue to be linked with Youri Baas, Piero Hincapie and Martin Zubimendi while Aston Villa are also rumoured to be tracking Oguz Aydin and Alejandro Garnacho.
