Transfer interest is building around Gustavo Varela, with Tottenham understood to be weighing-up a move for the Monza forward. While there has been no official bid as yet, the club may act swiftly if they decide to pursue the deal before the transfer window slams shut. Tottenham are still pushing to finalise terms. However, Chelsea and Arsenal are still watching closely and may return with offers of their own. Tottenham's 26/27 output of 1.11 goals per game is behind league levels. The addition of Gustavo Varela would give them the sharper edge they're missing in front of goal. Reports suggest Tottenham are monitoring Orri Oskarsson, Alex Freeman and Carlos Borges whereas Monza have not been associated with other players at this stage.
