Update
Liverpool have pulled the plug on their pursuit of Rodrygo, with the move from Real Madrid officially off. The forward had been considered a priority signing, but for now, he'll reportedly be staying put. It's unclear whether the club will revisit the deal further down the line or move onto other targets. The transfer has collapsed, but Rodrygo could still emerge as a target for other linked sides such as Newcastle, Bayern Munich and Paris SG. At 1.86 goals scored per game this season, Liverpool already pose a big threat. Rodrygo would be expected to maintain that level and give them another reliable option in attack. Real Madrid have also been linked with Alexander Isak, Dominik Livakovic and Youri Tielemans while Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Jan Paul van Hecke, Morgan Rogers and Federico Gatti.
