Update
The transfer of Harvey Elliott to Liverpool has reportedly reached a breakthrough stage after Aston Villa gave the green light to the move and accepted a formal offer. While personal terms and contract length are yet to be agreed - it is looking increasingly likely that the interested team is about to get one of their top transfer targets signed and sealed. Liverpool have laid out their intentions, but valuation and timing remain under debate. Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Chelsea are keeping tabs in case talks collapse or progress slows further. So far this season, Liverpool are steady at both ends (1.58 goals scored per game, 1.37 goals conceded per game). The role for Harvey Elliott would be to keep that balance while lifting performances across the pitch. Aston Villa continue to be linked with David Moller Wolfe, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Brennan Johnson while Liverpool are also rumoured to be tracking Ivan Toney, James Mcconnell and Jurrien Timber.
