The transfer mill is churning once again, with Chelsea believed to be lining up a move for Alex Freeman, the defender from Villarreal. Sources close to the club suggest they are exploring options to reinforce their squad ahead of the run-in. Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham have not withdrawn their interest and could still influence the outcome. This season (26/27) Chelsea have shipped 13 goals in 7 matches - 1.86 a game, which is well above the Premier League average. Alex Freeman would be expected to come in and help tighten things up at the back. Speculation continues to connect Chelsea with Desire Doue, Abdellah Ouazane and Nicolo Tresoldi while no fresh rumours surround Villarreal. Stay tuned for more details as the story develops.
